Cobalt B12 Selenium is a concentrated liquid supplement containing Cobalt, Vitamin B12 and Selenium to enhance rumen function and help to avoid ill thrift, pining and to stimulate protein, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism in cattle and sheep. Cobalt and hence Vitamin B12 deficiency may also affect cell membrane integrity and cause muscular dystrophy, retained placenta and weak calves and lambs. Microbes in the rumen require Cobalt to synthesis Vitamin B12 that in turn is essential for red blood cell production. Some pastures are deficient in Cobalt and Selenium and may give rise to pining, loss of appetite, weight loss, muscular wasting, nutritional anaemia, mastitis and impaired overall metabolism. Vitamin B12 enhances Cobalt absorption and availability. Administration: Apply as a top dress on feed, drench or by adding to drinking water as required but do not repeat for more than 4 - 6 week intervals. Cobalt B12 may be used at worming time to avoid unnecessary handling and stress to animals
